If you have little ones who might be a little (or alot) timid about Santa, I have the Santa for you! We saw Santa several weeks ago at the mall and since that day, Caroline just says "Santa scare me" when we ask about Santa. Well, Savannah could not wait another day to go and visit with Santa and take him her list, so we decided to go see him and attempt our annual picture. There was a small line, but it gave Caroline a little time to warm up. We had been there about 10 minutes when Santa's helpers started having camera trouble. After a few minutes, Santa came over to the line and started singing Christmas songs! He really had a nice voice too! Both of the girls were in disbelief that Santa was singing "Santa Clause is Coming to Town"....to them! He then sang "Jingle Bells". It was awesome! When it came time for our turn, Caroline was a little timid at first, but nothing a sucker and one of the sweetest Santas I have ever met couldn't solve! She snuggled on up in his lap and talked his ear off! She even told him she wanted a baby doll! She also told him it was cold and raining outside and something about pizza? Savannah shared her list with him too. It was a successful Santa visit! He got us in the Christmas spirit enough to come home and put up our tree, hang our stockings, and other festive decorations. This mom gives the Santa at NE Mall 5 Stars for making the extra effort for some great Santa memories for my kids! Thanks Santa!
On another note, I started the Advent Jesse Tree with my girls today since we will be in Disney World during the first week of December. (yeah!) A group of friends and I split the 25 needed ornaments and then we all got together and exchanged what we had made/bought. So, I have a set of 25 ornaments (one for each day in Dec until Christmas) each symbolizing the heritage of Jesus Christ from creation through His birth. The book has a neat little devotional for kids with questions, scripture and song ideas. It was such a sweet time today as we started with creation and the girls unwrapped the first ornament...a globe. Even Caroline listened and sang "He's got the Whole World in His Hands". I hope this starts a neat family tradition that will help us focus on the real meaning of Christmas! Here is a picture of all 25 ornaments.

Hey Emiley! How exciting that you have a blog too! Your girls are so beautiful.
I love the Advent Jesse Tree idea. I have heard about it but have never tried it. I think I might look into doing it next year ( I doubt I have enough time to make all the ornaments this year). There are so many lessons to teach during the holiday season to our children. This sounds like a great way to do just that!!
I hope your Thanksgiving meal went well! Ours turned out great!
That list Savannah wrote is the cutest thing ever:) Thanks for the advice on the Santa, Kylee still says she doesn't need to see Santa so we will see:) Glad to know the Advent Tree started out so good. So Fun!!
Your girls are just so pretty!! Their picture with sooo good!! We are going to go try that Santa this week...wish us luck!!!!
What a great picture with Santa! I'm glad the Santa experience was a good one- I've heard BAD stories!!
Savannah and Caroline look SO cute with Santa - both smiling so big and pretty!! We are going to try THAT Santa this week - I don't know how Jaycie will respond - but I sure hope she smiles as big and pretty as your girls! I'm going to look into the Advent Jesse Tree too - sounds like a really good family time tradition for the holidays!
Thanks for the Santa advice (we saw one at my parents but Mae cried)... I love Savannah's list - what awesome handwriting! Precious Thanksgiving lists too - I'm glad you guys had some sweet family time.
Glad you guys had a nice time with Santa. I am a little disappointed though. Miss Savanah doesn't have on her holiday red!! : ) I guess pink with a Christmas tree was close enough? I like your tree idea too. We may have to do that one day.
He IS the best Santa ever, he's been doing it for years, I remember him from when I was in high school! Glad to find you on here!
Love it, and I love the idea of the advent tree . . .gotta check that one out. Colby and I were just chatting today about how Christmas is a special time because of Jesus - I was wishing I had something like Resurrection eggs to help visually. I'll check it out! GREAT Santa picture, too!
So when do we get to hear about Disney?? I have been checking daily. : ) I saw you guys at church Saturday, but lost you before I got to hear about your trip. Hope you guys are doing good.
